Why does the calculator quote an estimated price?

The reason the price generated by the pricing calculator is an estimated price is due to the fact that we charge based on your usage. Since different users consume different amounts of DNS requests, or employ caching, we cannot quote an exact figure. However, this figure is based off what we’ve learned from our thousands of networks and represents what a typical/average user consumes.

Is there a minimum charge?

Yes, we have a minimum charge of $5 per network, per month, which includes your first 200,000 DNS requests. If you exceed 200,000 requests, you are charged an additional $1 per month for each block of 200,000 requests.

How do you define a network, and what are the limits?

We consider a network to be a geographic location. In other words, if you have ten offices you’re intending on using DNSFilter at we would consider that as ten networks. In order to account for redundant WAN connections, we allow each network to have up to three IPs or IP ranges, so long as they all geo-locate to the same network location.

How much is it going to cost me?

Our pricing is usage based, so we cannot provide an exact figure on what your cost will be. However, our pricing is very affordable and won’t likely be a major factor in your decision. We encourage each customer to participate in a free 14 day trial in order to check out our service and get an accurate report on what exactly your cost will be.

What if I process a large amount of requests, or have a special requirement?

If you process more than 2 billion DNS requests annually or have a special requirement, we can work with you. Please contact us to discuss options such as custom pricing or private deployments.

What if I have more than 1,500 students/staff?

We just didn’t want to make the calculator any bigger! We can easily accomodate schools, districts or universities of over 100,000 users. Our monthly charge is a flat $1 per student or staff member per year. However, for exceptionally large user counts, please just contact us for a custom quote.

Is there a minimum charge?

Yes, for education accounts, we have a minimum charge of $250 per year. At $1 per user, this means we must charge for a minimum of 250 users, even if you have fewer students/staff.

What constitutes a student?

A student is any enrolled student regardless of age. We charge for the total enrollment, not per device or per online student.

How do I get started with Educational pricing?

Please create a trial account with your educational e-mail address, then contact us. Once we’ve verified that that the end user is indeed a K-12 school, accredited university, technical college, community college or day care facility we will convert your account to charge at our educational rate.

Does DNSFilter help us to achieve CIPA Compliance?

Yes, if you deploy DNSFilter across the network your students use to access the internet, you would achieve CIPA Compliance.

Are you Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) certified?

Yes, DNSFilter complies with the regulations imposed by the Internet Watch Foundation and Friendly Wi-Fi for protection against access to child pornography.

Are you an Enterprise with over 1,500 users?
